So What Happened To Them?

I believe this to be an opportunity to change our understanding of evolution, religion, and the human experience.

Though the scientific research is in it's early stages, we are seeing the ingredients of a culture in a non-human species long before any human record. All because they understood how to record their most major life event after birth.

This begs the question, If they knew to record the death of kin and bury them in a remote location, then did they think about their existence past death? Given they recorded death with symbols, Could they have planned for generations in the future to remember them? Do they carry memories? Given the intelligence to create carvings, one must have created a tool to do so; could they have used tools to build? Could ancient human civilizations come across this information and build from it? Could the missing link be a link in consciousness and not a missing physical body?
